Another performance of my solo work for Berimbau and computer (Quocíente : Laços), this time at the Phoenix Art Museum. This concert featured many composers from the Phoenix area and was driven by the desire to place contemporary Western music in new and/or unusual settings. Performing at the art museum wasn’t necessarily unusual per se, however, it was a chance to demonstrate to the museum-going audiences the motivations for placing certain musics in new settings. Having said that, this concert happened to be new music in a familiar setting.

After this particular concert, I had an enjoyable conversation with a lady about how she heard my work. It was thrilling to discuss her interpretation and aural phenomena she experienced. In the end, being able to connect with someone through my own music was transcendental.
